Flood Warning Info - River Colne at Hillhouse and Colne Bridge

River levels have now peaked and are beginning to fall. Further scattered rainfall is forecast overnight and into Monday (10/02/2020). However we expect the risk of flooding to reduce as we do not anticipate any significant river response. We urge residents to remain vigilant and avoid walking and driving through low-lying land or near local watercourses. Our incident room is open and we are monitoring the situation closely. We will update this message by 11:20 on 10/02/2020, or as the situation changes.

River levels have risen as a result of persistent heavy rainfall overnight and this morning, 09/02/20, due to Storm Ciara. A further heavy band of rain is causing a sharp river response and we may already be seeing flood impacts in the area. Areas most at risk are properties around Little Royd Mill Business Park on Queens Mill Road, on Firth Street, to the north of Leeds Road, on Springbank Crescent, and some properties west of St Andrews Road. We expect river levels to continue to rise until the mid afternoon today, 09/02/20. To report property flooding please call our incident hotline on 0800 80 70 60.
